How did you enter into the hospitality industry?

After reading a magazine article about possible career paths when I was in high school, I decided I wanted to be a wedding planner and went to hospitality school at Boston University. After a few years I realized I wanted to broaden my horizon to all events and not just weddings. By chance, I took a job in a hotel right after graduation and have never left!

What brought you to Nashville?

My husband and I moved here from New York City in 2018 because we knew we wanted to live in a smaller city and have a yard! I love that Nashville has so much going on, but it's still a small town at heart!

Where are we likely to find you on the weekends or when you aren't working?

Friday is family pizza and movie night at home, but other than that - I'm exploring Cheekwood with my toddler, drinking a hazy IPA at Tailgate West, or checking out all of the new restaurants in town!

Name 3 things you cannot live without

Not counting Jesus & my family - tacos, the ocean and sunglasses!

What is the best advice you have received?

Relationships matter. Professionally, the industry is small and meaningfully networking and staying in touch with past colleagues is so important. Personally, it's just a job - put down your phone. take actual time off, and unplug with your people!

What are you currently listening to? Podcast? Favorite song that motivates you?

I discovered Carlos Whitaker in 2020; he's a local author and speaker. He calls himself a 'hope dealer' and he just started a podcast, although I also watch his stories on IG a lot! My other favorite podcast is Jamie Ivey! For music, lately I've been really into The Weeknd and Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors. They're about polar opposites, so I guess all that to say - I love almost all genres of music!

What are some career highlights and biggest career accomplishments?

Working at Fenway Park when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2007. In one summer, handling the arrangements for 12 different MLB teams, who were staying at my hotel in NYC. It came with a lot of moving parts, late nights, and details, but also the opportunity to attend a lot of Mets & Yankees games! Delivering almonds to Matt Damon when he was speaking at an event (and his wife requested them!). Last but certainly not least, being selected to join the pre-opening team for W Nashville!

What would surprise us about yourself?

I studied abroad in Sydney and loved it! I "learned" how to surf and was just awful.. it's tough! I also picked up the phrase 'no worries,' which is one of my favorites and I still say all of the time.
